## What does it involve?

For people who have fat in other parts of the body, this may be the best option. Fat transfer to the buttocks is performed together with liposuction, mainly of the abdomen, waist and back, among other areas.

Once the fat cells have been prepared through a purification process, they are injected above and below the muscle layers, considering that the area needs blood vessels to ensure proper irrigation of the transferred tissue.

The procedure is relatively fast and can be performed under local or general anaesthesia. Between 150 and 800 g of fat are placed per buttock. Staying one day at the clinic and resting for three days is recommended. The result creates better curves and rounder, more proportionate buttocks.

### How much fat is retained?

### Can I sit afterwards?

Pressure on the buttocks is not recommended during the first two to three weeks. You may sleep on your stomach and use a relief cushion to sit.

### Is it better than implants?

Neither is absolutely better: transfer gives very natural results with your own tissue and also reshapes the donor area. Implants offer more predictable volume when there is little fat.
