## What does it involve?

Breasts tend to droop after pregnancy, breastfeeding or simply with ageing. The purpose of a breast lift is to improve the physical appearance of the breast by removing excess skin and returning the gland to its correct position.

An implant is not always required: when volume is sufficient and drooping is the only issue, mastopexy alone repositions the tissue. If volume is also lacking, a combined augmentation in the same operation can be evaluated.

The best candidates are women with drooping, less firm breasts, usually after having children, since a subsequent pregnancy or breastfeeding can affect the result.

## FAQ

### Does a breast lift include implants?

Not by definition. A lift repositions existing tissue. If volume is also lacking, an augmentation can be added in the same surgery after assessing the desired proportion.

### What will the scar look like?

It depends on the technique. The design is planned before surgery and placed in discreet, covered areas. With post-operative care the scar matures and refines over time.

### When can I exercise again?

Light activity resumes in the first week. Impact exercise and strength training are gradually reintroduced, generally after the sixth week.
