## What does it involve?

Gynecomastia is the accumulation of fat and tissue in the male chest area. It can appear due to hormonal changes, oestrogen treatments, excess weight or idiopathically.

Surgery flattens and improves the chest contour. Several techniques exist and the choice depends on whether fat, glandular tissue or both predominate: liposuction, tissue removal through a discreet incision, or a combination of the two.
